Keeping Warm…

by Jenn on December 12, 2009

I should not complain about the weather too much given that I live in Southern California. However, lately it has been a bit cooler than we are used to. We’ve had some days where the temperature has been in the mid-50′s, and much cooler at night. I know I know, compared to MOST of the country this is still great weather. But when you are not used to it, it’s COLD!

Our house has a heater, however it is one of those heaters that is in only one room. The heater is in our living room. This works out great for Noel, as her room is just outside of the heater, and it supplies warmth to her all night long. The problem is we opted to give Caden the room closest to us, and it’s on the far side of the house, and it does not get much heat.

When brainstorming ideas on HOW to keep him warm at night, we decided to look at REI. As I’ve mentioned before, REI is one of my favorite stores.  We ended up getting Caden an REI Children’s Vest. Caden now lives in this vest. Truthfully, we should have purchased 2, so that he’d have one to wear while the other is being washed.

Both my husband and I have warn REI vests for years, and we really love them. They are great for keeping your trunk warm, and they are light. I like that I can wear it to keep warm, without the bulk of big sweaters or jackets.

Not to mention, isn’t it cute?
