My husband & I are always looking for ways to save money. We don’t want to be cheap bastards, but at the same time we don’t want to watch our money fly out the window for no good reason. A few months ago when we were looking at our expenses, we realized we spent a lot of money to not be at home.
We spent money to eat at restaurants. We spend money to watch performances. We spend money to see movies (well, not so much since Caden’s birth). We spend money to drive places (and fuel really can add up). We spend money to go out with friends. Basically, we spend lot’s of money to entertain ourselves.
We made the decision to think more carefully about the money we spend to entertain ourselves. This does not mean we can’t go to a concert, or eat out, but it does mean we need to not be wasteful. We made the decision to invest in family activities. We purchased season passes to disneyland, and we bought a few RC cars. Now when we need something to do, we use our Disneyland annual passports, or we go to the track to drive. We also occasionally go to the archery range and soot. All of these activities required an initial investment, however now they are paid for, and we get to simply enjoy doing them!
Finding ways to save money on entertainment has not only saved us money, but it’s also provided us with family activities we all enjoy, and quality time together!
